Welcome to Home of the Great Wall
Home of the Great Wall stands as a remarkable gateway to one of humanity’s most awe-inspiring feats—the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. Nestled just 3 kilometers from this historic wonder in Beijing’s Huairou District, the brand offers travelers an immersive experience steeped in culture, history, and breathtaking natural beauty. With a stellar rating of 4.7, it is clear that visitors consistently praise not only the site’s majestic scenery but also the thoughtful amenities provided.
Guests frequently highlight the ease and versatility of access, recommending the use of cable cars and chairlifts to ascend the wall, thereby preserving energy to fully appreciate the panoramic vistas of verdant mountains, valleys, and ancient villages. The option to descend via toboggan adds an element of playful adventure, making the journey memorable beyond sightseeing alone. Walkways here are well maintained, although the steep stone steps challenge visitors to engage physically, a reminder of the immense effort that went into constructing the wall centuries ago.
Beyond the wall itself, the Home of the Great Wall brand excels in creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. Amenities such as free Wi-Fi, airport shuttles, kid- and pet-friendly policies, and air-conditioned accommodations speak to a commitment to convenience and family-friendly hospitality. On-site restaurants and cafes allow visitors to savor local flavors while soaking in views of this remarkable monument, bridging the gap between ancient history and modern comfort.
While some note the reconstructed nature of the Mutianyu section, this restoration serves as a poignant tribute to the past, making the historical significance accessible without sacrificing safety or comfort. Visitors caution to plan for weather and crowd conditions, emphasizing days with clear skies to fully absorb the Wall’s grandeur. The presence of thoughtfully curated shops and guided experiences, despite some commercial upselling, adds layers of cultural interaction to the visit.
In essence, Home of the Great Wall isn’t simply a stopover; it is a sensory journey into the heart of China’s enduring spirit and architectural genius. It invites travelers to witness something that transcends time—a monumental testament to human will and ingenuity set against nature’s magnificent backdrop. For anyone seeking an authentic blend of scenic beauty, historical depth, and accessible adventure, this brand and its location shine as a premier choice.

A once in a life time visit, one of the old wonders of the world, something you can't miss when you are in Beijing. Have to be ready for a good walk, and sure take the bus and the cable car whenever you are offered. Wonderful to be there, especially in a nice sunny day. Worth every step, the view is one of a kind, amazing how such structure was built. Place well taken care of, and have some shops on the way for souvenirs, have to bargain, and not be in a rush to get the best out of the bargain.
Awesome awesome awesome. Good work out for the glutes. Take the cable car up or you will use all your energy just walking up to the wall. This also gives you more time on the wall. Walk back down the trails is quite nice. The wall walk might be a be hard in places for little kids and you may end up carrying them.
It was wonderful experience. We took the chair lifts up and came down in the toboggan. The wall itself is scenic. the air in March is crispy still a bit of frozen spots along the way. Resist the temptation to buy stuff from the shop fronts the prices quoted are about 4 times high than a shop near the entrance. Our guide took us to a tea ceremony, bit of a rip off that one since we were kind of forced to buy something. The cheapest tea was about RMB120. Over all the wall is a wonderful experience. Try and walk as much as you can.
Greta place to see the Great wall of China. Not as busy as some of the other places. You can get the cable car up which I would recommend and then walk back down. The path to walk is a proper path but is mainly steps and is very steep.
This is one of the best places to see the Great Wall. You can see beautiful mountains, valleys, and villages as the back drop to the wall itself. This is one place you have to see for yourself to really understand the beauty. In addition to the wonderful historical things to see, there are also some nice restaurants and cafes to eat and drink at to view the wall. You can take a cable car to the top, but if you really want to test your health, try climbing the steps. They seem like they never end, but it is fun to do.
The Great Wall is stupendous. This section is a reconstruction, so fairly recent. Gives you an idea of how much effort it must have taken to build it so long ago. Views are breathtaking. It lacks authenticity though.
Mutianyu section of the Great Wall was well worth the trip. Our guide noted that many foreigners prefer this particular section due to the views and completeness. You take a ski lift or gondola to the wall and walk (climb) to different sections. Once completed you can toboggan down! Alot of fun. The town below is s tourist trip but not on par with those in Europe.
I've been there 3 times and it's still amaze me. Just one of the most incredible mankind construction ever made. Try to go there on a day with low pollution otherwise the view isn't that great. Bring a lot of water and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
